FDA requires patients to change MDIs

Patients are required to change their CFC metered-dose asthma inhalers (MDIs) to an HFA-based MDI. The medicine in the MDI will remain the same, but the chemical used to push the medicine out of the inhaler is different. Talk to your physician to make the transition now!

For more information please choose one of the following options:

IMPORTANT: Inhalers should be used only as a back-up measure to treat asthma. For example, as pre-treatment for exercise-induced asthma symptoms before exercising or before being exposed to pets that you are allergic to.

If you are using your inhaler daily, contact an allergist immunologist to get your asthma under control. Find an allergist/immunologist in your area.
